Everyone’s a (TV) Critic…

My blog is going to be dedicated to TV reviews from a social justice perspective.

“Spare the Snark, Spoil The Networks”

Dedicated to snarky television recaps, reviews, and entertainment commentary,  this blog also allows for viewers to comment about their favorite shows and then participate Tubey Awards to vote for the best/worst television shows of the season.

Things I Like:

  • The different categories for tv reviews. “Brilliant, but Cancelled” for example.
  • The grading system
  • A chance for people to vote on the best of the best. The Tubey = A cyber Emmy.
  • Discussion forums for pretty much ever show in existence.
  • Cross platform media interaction: Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and even Pinterest.

Things I Dislike:

  • The format of the posts on certain pages. It can be a little cluttered and overwhelming.

images (1)It’s a more cut and dry blog that reviews and recaps Television shows. More emphasis on behind the scenes information and ratings/tv rumors.

Things I Like:

  • The behind the scenes info. It adds depth.
  • I’m a sucker for quirky trivia and fun facts, so I appreciate the Quotes and Spoiler categories.
  • Instead of just saying what happened in each episode, there a bit more insight and speculation as to what’s going to happen next. It keeps the conversation going despite the episodes end.

Things I Dislike:

  • It’s more mainstream network, so there isn’t much of a variety in terms of content.
  • There’s only a few places of interactions.

Instead of in-depth television reviews, TVLine is geared towards information readers about everything that goes into a particular show. Who’s being casted for what, who’s leaving after a six-stint, spoilers, inside scoops, etc…

Things I Like:

  • The Renewal Scorecard. It informs readers the fate of their favorite television shows.
  • Their vast collection of spoilers for every show.
  • How they have ‘Performer of Week”, to shine light on an actor/actress that truly shined on whatever show.
  • “What To Watch Fridays

Things I Dislike:

  • There isn’t much variety to the site itself. One could lose interest in it after awhile.
  • Lack of TV reviews.
