Revealing the identity of the commenter

One of the best aspects of the Internet is that people are able to observe and comment things without revealing their identity. People enjoy the fact that they can be open and honest on the Internet where most times in the real world they do not have the courage to do so. The Internet is raw, truthful and sometimes even merciless, which has made others think that if people where required to use their own names maybe the amount of vicious comments would decrease.  Forcing commeters to reveal their identity will make them feel more vulnerable and exposed, which will prevent them from being honest and truthful; without this writers will not be able to improve their sites to the liking of their readers.

I like your idea, but I’m not sure how the two parts of your bolded sentence are related. I think you need to work on the structure of the sentence itself. So, you think it’s okay to allow commenters to remain anonymous. But then how is the second part about writers related? Seems like a big leap. Maybe too much to do in a five page essay.
